A message to parents and carers
Tue 13 Sep 2022Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, you will be aware that a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period of time for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign. For all schools and further education settings, normal attendance is expected throughout the National Mourning period. This is in line with Department for Education guidance.
The official date of the State Funeral is 19th September 2022. This day will be a bank holiday and, as with all settings that are normally closed on a bank holiday, the schools of the Avonreach Academy Trust will be closed.
You can be certain that all of our staff will do everything required to reassure children and young people at this difficult time.
Best wishes

School Closures
Fri 15 Jul 2022Following discussions with its head teachers and in the light of the Met Office’s weather warning, Avonreach Academy Trust has taken the decision to close all of its schools on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th July. You will be aware that for the first time temperatures of 40°C have been forecast in the UK and the Met Office has issued the first ever Red warning for exceptional heat, a warning that applies directly to Worcestershire. We appreciate the inconvenience that this causes parents and carers, but I am sure that you will understand the need to put the health and safety of our children and staff first in these unprecedented circumstances.

Avonreach Academy Trust stands in solidarity with Ukraine
Tue 08 Mar 2022All associated with Avonreach Academy Trust and its schools share international feelings of widespread revulsion at the shocking suffering of the people of Ukraine following its invasion by Russian forces. Although we feel as powerless as many others, we will do everything possible to contribute resources to the millions of Ukrainians who find themselves displaced and experiencing difficulties that we are barely able to imagine. These innocent victims of war are in our prayers.
If you are able, please consider supporting charitable appeals to help those suffering now. Here are the details of the Ukranian Embassy fund, the UNICEF appeal and the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Orchard Primary School - Completion of the first stage of the building project
Mon 04 Jan 2021At this time of largely negative news stories we are delighted to announce that Orchard Primary School in Pershore, part of the Avonreach Academy Trust, is celebrating as a £0.5 million building project nears the completion of its first stage.
Funded in part by Section 106 and Condition Improvement Grant monies, and years of saving, work began towards the end of May. Overseen by Marc Worrall Associates and delivered by SPS West Midlands in the most challenging of circumstances, the new build will provide new classrooms, much needed small group teaching spaces, a technology room, Key Stage1 library as well as making the school fully accessible. Both parts of the building are now connecting meaning children are able to move freely between the areas. The new covered courtyard will also provide our Early Years children with an all-weather outdoor play area. We are very excited that we are able to move into the first phase in January.’
Head teacher Sarah Bitcon said: “This is a dream come true and will truly transform the learning opportunities for all of our children.”

Christmas Activities
Fri 18 Dec 2020In this gloomy national time, the staff and pupils of Inkberrow Primary School (one of the four schools making up the Avonreach Academy Trust - AAT) have lit up the area with their Christmas activities, albeit on line. Head teacher, Glenn Duggan-Seville, was determined that a Christmas jumper day, a nativity ('A Miracle in Town'), concert, Cinderella pantomime and Christmas lunch would all proceed as normally as possible so that the children could mark the festive season.

Year 4 Science Day at Pershore High School
Sun 01 Sep 2019Pershore High School recently hosted a Science activity morning for Year 4 pupils from Cherry Orchard, Inkberrow and Norton Juxta Kemspey C.E. first schools. Led by Head of Science, Sarah Cox, and supported by PGCE teacher Jeremy Burton and Year Ten pupils from PHS, a fun and informative time was had by all.
Youngsters were divided up into groups that took their names from space pioneers like Helen Sharman, Tim Peake, Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong, not to mention Laika (a dog launched into space by the Russians on Sputnik 2 in 1957) and Miss Baker (one of two squirrel monkeys sent into space by the United States and safely returned in 1959).
Amongst other activities the pupils were involved in a practical project to establish the most efficient fuel – ‘Rambo’ or ‘Retro – to launch their rockets. The activity was one of numerous cross-school days to be organised by the Avonreach Academy Trust.
