Orchard Primary School - Completion of the first stage of the building project
At this time of largely negative news stories we are delighted to announce that Orchard Primary School in Pershore, part of the Avonreach Academy Trust, is celebrating as a £0.5 million building project nears the completion of its first stage.
Funded in part by Section 106 and Condition Improvement Grant monies, and years of saving, work began towards the end of May. Overseen by Marc Worrall Associates and delivered by SPS West Midlands in the most challenging of circumstances, the new build will provide new classrooms, much needed small group teaching spaces, a technology room, Key Stage1 library as well as making the school fully accessible. Both parts of the building are now connecting meaning children are able to move freely between the areas. The new covered courtyard will also provide our Early Years children with an all-weather outdoor play area. We are very excited that we are able to move into the first phase in January.’
Head teacher Sarah Bitcon said: “This is a dream come true and will truly transform the learning opportunities for all of our children.”
