Local Governing Boards
The Trust Board established Local Governing Boards (LGBs) under the terms of its Articles of Association. Although the Trust Board is the key decision maker, LGBs are a formal part of the governance structure and play a crucial role in contributing to the success of their individual school, supporting the Trust Board to ensure good governance of the Trust as a whole. The Trust Board retains the overall decision authority but delegates a number of governance functions to LGBs to enable both the Trust Board and LGBs to fulfil their respective roles and meet their responsibilities. The Chair of the Trust Board holds the Chairs of LGBs to account, and the Executive Officer holds the headteachers to account for ensuring good standards across the Trust.
