  • Progress on Pershore High School's Rebuild Project

Pershore High School's rebuild and expansion project continues to make excellent progress as work advances on the new £26.8 million development.

The school was identified in the first tranche of the Department for Education's School Rebuilding Programme (SRP) in 2021. Following the approved change of age range scheduled for 2027, the Treasury and Department for Education agreed funding for a major rebuild and expansion project, which will replace the school's ageing 1930s buildings and some structures dating from the 1950s.

Demolition work began in September 2025, and the new building is scheduled for completion in summer 2027, after which further demolition, refurbishment and landscaping works will take place. The overall project is expected to be fully completed by Easter 2028.

    New Build Update

Dry weather conditions throughout March enabled construction work to progress significantly. By the end of April, all drainage infrastructure and footings for the steel supports had been completed, providing the foundations for the next stage of the build.

During May, contractors successfully erected the entire steel frame of the new building. Current works are focused on installing the Level 1 and Level 2 steel floors, with all concrete floor screeding expected to be completed by the end of the month.

The project team will then concentrate on completing the external brickwork and roofing throughout the summer. If progress continues as planned, the building could be made watertight by October, allowing internal fit-out works to commence ahead of schedule.
